Description

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS SUMMER 2024

Join Boulder Cycling Club for our annual summer trip to the mountains. In the past, we’ve been
to Crested Butte, Aspen/Glenwood Springs, and Summit County. This year is Steamboat Springs!! We’ll
have ride routes for road, gravel and mountain biking – all great options in Steamboat.
We will be staying a minimum of 3 nights at the quintessential Rabbit Ears Motel, conveniently
located in town and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The motel provides
queen/queen bedded rooms with free parking and continental breakfast every morning. You’ll
be close to the bike trail, tubing/fishing on the Yampa River, hiking to a waterfall, yoga in the
botanic gardens, the in-town hot springs, and more. To be efficient with fuel and funds, we will
do our best to assign roommates in double-occupancy rooms and assist with arranging
carpools. If you want to drive separately and/or bunk alone at an additional cost, just let us know
of your plans.
The schedule:
● Plan to arrive by noon on Thursday, July 18 in time for a casual ride. At 4PM, the club
is being welcomed for a private tour of Moots Cycles to learn how titanium frames are
made. Following the Moots tour, we’ll head over to Storm Peak Brewery for a couple of
local beers, snacks, and pizza on us.
● Friday will be a longer ride with dinner on your own and/or an optional visit to the hot
springs in town or the more secluded Strawberry Hot Springs up in the hills.
● Following Saturday’s ride, we’ve got tickets to the professional rodeo where you can purchase a
delicious barbeque dinner.
● Check out is Sunday morning by 11AM. The motel has offered to extend our group rate
if you would like to stay Sunday night to squeeze in an extra day of riding and avoid the
Sunday summer traffic back to Boulder/Denver.
Our summer trip is only open to Boulder Cycling Club members. $480 per person (based on
double occupancy) includes:
● 3 nights (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) in a queen/queen room
● Continental breakfast every morning
● Thursday afternoon private Moots tour and happy hour at Storm Peak Brewery
● Saturday night rodeo seats
● Route planning and trip organization
● Note: Extra night on Sunday is available on request.
Note: Each person attending must register separately. If you have to cancel, your payment will
be refunded (less a $30 handling fee) anytime prior to midnight, June 15th. If you have to cancel
after that date, we will attempt to resell your spot, but there is absolutely no guarantee that we
will be successful in finding a replacement from the waitlist. (If we are, you will still be charged
the $30 handling fee). If BCC has to cancel the trip for unforeseen circumstances, you will
receive either (at your option) a full refund or a credit towards the 2025 trip.
REGISTER NOW as space is limited to a maximum of 50 lucky riders and our summer trip always
sells out.
