March seems to be coming in like a Lamb, so we are kicking off the season with several new rides. Go to the calendar to see posted rides and times. As the days lengthen, we will roll out after-work rides (approximately in early April). The first weekend introduces a new ride lead by Roberto Gaggioli, formerly a pro rider, who has made Boulder his home. He is a partner in Mista Italian Kitchen (28th and Iris) and that will be the staging area for the Mista rides. As the season progresses and more people join the ride, Roberto will open his restaurant up after the ride and provide an “Italian Brunch”! This will be a road bike ride with the routes to be determined on a weekly basis.
One of my personal favorite rides, “The Eldorado Loop” also launches this weekend. We will ride from South Boulder/Table Mesa area down to Eldorado Springs and back on various side roads, Mountain bike tracks, and along the “ditch trail”. To me, the views of riding up into the canyon and into Eldorado, are some of my favorite close-in mountain views in the Boulder area. This is an easy level ride that can be viewed on mapmyride. After the ride anyone interested is invited to eat brunch at the South Walnut Cafe.
Another ride will leave from Bicycle Village and be a road bike route to be determined based on the agreement of cyclists attending. Once again, please check the calender for times and dates and remember that all these rides are weather permitting.
