The Colorado House and Senate passed the Bicycle Safety Bill (Senate Bill 148) on Monday, April 27. ” The bill now goes to the Governor for signing and may go into effect Aug. 4. Both the Colorado House and Senate gave final approval to Senate Bill 148 after accepting a change made by a Conference Committee. The Committee revised the bill’s two abreast language to say that bicyclists may ride two abreast as long as they are not impeding the normal and reasonable movement of traffic. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk for his signature!
Bicycle Colorado thanks all the citizens around the state who made calls to their State Representative. Many Representatives reported receiving hundreds of contacts from people in their district.
