The Boulder Cycling Club Annual Membership Appreciation Party was held Tuesday August 25, 2009 at the Boulder Beer Company’s back patio. The normal Tuesday Night ride had 17 cyclists and met back at the restaurant after a northern ride through a rural route. The weather which had been threatening all day stayed dry the whole evening and we enjoyed a wonderful summer night on the back patio. The club donated the light appetizers and we had a special free raffle of prizes donated by sponsors. In addition, the club acknowledged the many volunteers that had helped throughout the year with gift cards.
Our own Eli Madrone the master behind the website and newsletter production was also acknowledge as a key to the club’s growth and a thanked for his going above and beyond the call of duty. He was given a gift card at a local restaurant as a token of the club’s appreciation for all his hard work. The club also acknowledged 3 special members who have worked very hard on organizing and working with their own special charity rides. Marie Willson for her work with the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the creation of the Blue River Century. Marcus Berggren for his work with the Davis Phinney Foundation and the creation of the Road to Victory Ride. Todd Ulrich for his work with the American Diabetes Association and the Tour de Cure. These 3 have personally inspired me with their endless energy and devotion they put into their respective charity rides. The club presented each of these inspiring members a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
